Watchet Sea Rowing was established in 2002 with two wooden French coxed four sliding seat rowing boats, ideally suited to the Bristol Channel sea conditions. These renovated row boats (Quiver and Fantasy) enabled the club to promote sea rowing as a recreational sport, offering people the opportunity to row in the Bristol Channel, have fun, and improve their health and fitness.

In 2006 the club welcomed ‘Sarah Pilkington’ a hybrid of the traditional Celtic Longboat but developed uniquely as a coxed four sliding seat version with the help of the manufacturers Dale Sailing Co Ltd. She was given the name ‘Sarah Pilkington’ as a tribute to the last rowed lifeboat in Watchet and is a wonderful addition to Watchet Sea Rowing Club.

If you are interested in having a go at rowing, subject to tide times, weather and sea conditions, please contact Watchet Boat Owners Association for further details.
